ANCIENT CARTAGENA

One of the true hidden highlights in Cartagena, when talking about ancient heritage is, undoubtedly, its imposing Roman Sandstone Quarries, just 15 minutes away from the port, where you will  initially be picked up; very few people actually know that they are still standing in the outskirts of the city, quite forgotten but as impressive as ever. After enjoying this first site, that was used during more than 2000 years to provide building materials for the city, tour will head for the main monuments built with it, such as the Punic Wall (3rd century b.C) or the Roman Theater (late 1st century b.C), both being amazingly rediscovered just by chance less than 30 years ago. Later on you will have the chance to enjoy some free time by the city center and shopping area before being driven back to your ship
