To fully get the insights of an area, food and drink are always as valuable as its arts and crafts: hence we have developed 4 tours for you to sample the tastiest local specialties in a relaxed but joyful mood.
CARTAGENA’S TAPAS TRIANGLE
A healthy dose of heritage, very little walking and some of the best food and drink in Cartagena: those are the ingredients for our ‘Tapas Triangle’ recipe, as you will be strolling through the city center, always over flat ground, making a few stops to taste some of its gastronomics delights in three different (and quite special) bars from the old quarter. In-between them, you will enjoy to the full the main highlights of the Art-Nouveau style from the late 19th century in the city. Tour will be ended by sampling the local coffee, the famous ‘Asiático’. Nice’n’ easy, but really difficult to ask for more.
MURCIAN GASTRONOMY TOUR
A tour designed for people wanting to enjoy the gastronomic delights of the Capital city, as this itinerary will firstly take you to the main market hall in town, to behold and taste the product sold there by some of its most appreciated vendors; later on we will be heading for a bakery to learn how the most successful item of local fast food is made, the famous meat pie. Tour will be ended by enjoying some tapas in one of the most typical bars from the quarters where locals usually do so. And, in-between, some of the local highlights, such as the remains of the 12th century Moorish wall or the gorgeous cathedral façade.
TAPAS & HERITAGE IN MURCIA
Including Casino Visit
Murcia has very cozy city center to stroll through. This tour starts by the river, beholding the 18th century bridge that was the former exit from town when heading for the coastline. After passing by the Town Hall, you will be entering the pedestrian area which is the heart of the city, surrounding its gorgeous-looking cathedral and with some other quite enyojable baroque monuments scattered all around. Route will continue along the main street, where the local Casino lies, and after touring its magnificent facilities you’ll be getting to the last important squares in the city center, those of Romea & Santo Domingo. Time then to enjoy some tasty tapas and a refreshment in a typical bar from the old quarter.
ARTISAN BEER FACTORY TOUR
When you travel inland the Region, you can expect lovely scenery and beautiful heritage but, seriously… Who could ever suspect that in the small but charming town of Ricote it could be found an artesan beer factory run by two restless young locals, that have succeeded in creating their own range of beers? This tour will take you through some of the best scenic sights in the Region and then to Ricote, where you will be entering its quite interesting baroque church, to finally taste 4 different beers all of them accompanied by its own tapa. Each one is crafted in a different style: ‘Wit’, ‘Pale Ale’, ‘Light’ and ‘Black’ Ipa, but you will find the valley’s footprint in any of them (for instance, orange blossom & vanilla flavours and much more …)
